Meet the Proprietor




A philanthropist, an administrator, educationist, community mobilizer and businessman, Dr. Abdul Ganiyu Gbolagade Salami a.k.a GAS, was born on July 29, 1956 in Kaiama – a suburb town of Kishi to the Late Alhaja Simbiat Aduke Alate alias Mama Oloriire and late Alhaji (Prince) Abdullahi Salami Alabi Adewuyi a.k.a Kurungu. Dr. A.G. Salami received his elementary and Secondary education from Ghana before proceeded to University of Ibadan to obtain  and University of Lagos both in Nigeria for his graduate and post graduate degrees resp. and later Queensland University in St Lucia, Brisbane, Australia. He is an holder of Bachelor of Arts (honors) 1979, Master of Public Administration (MPA) 1987, and Doctor of Philosophy (HONORARIES CAUSA) by THE HOUDEGBE NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY, COTONOU, BENIN REPUBLIC in 2005.

WORKING CAREER : After successfully serving his fatherland in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Program in Gombe 1979-1980, Dr. A.G. Salami was appointed as an Administrative Officer in the Public Service of the Federal Government of Nigeria from 1980 to 2009 and rose to the level of Ag Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health in 2008. He Worked variously as a teacher, instructor, administrator and Procurement Executive in thirteen (13) Ministries, Departments and Parastatals of different arms of Government and served as Director for seventeen years in the following Ministries : 1. Different arms or Departments in the Presidency. 2. Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria. 3. Voice of Nigeria, a Parastatal of Ministry of Information. 4. Federal Ministry of Justice. 5. Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the federation. 6. National Planning Commission. 7. Federal Ministry of Communications. 8. Federal Ministry of Interior. 9. Federal Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Development. 10. Federal Ministry of Health.

A man of many parts, he attended numerous courses, seminars workshops with United Nations and many of its organs in various cities across the continents of Europe, North & South America, Asia, Africa. Other countries and Island visited include but not limited to; Australia, New Zealand, Papau New Guinea and The American Samoa in the Oceania. He is also a member of several national and international professional Organizations and Clubs. Since retirement, he has been involved in several business ventures, Community self help as well as philanthropic programs and Projects. Prior to this, had been involved in grassroots mobilization of Islamic propagation, education and promotion which saw the emergence of a new dynamic Muslim elites of today in Kishi. He is a Pioneer and co-founder of YOUMBAS INTERNATIONAL at the state and local government levels in the 1970s. He was initiator of “adult return to school program” in Kishi whereby many of our primary school and Islamiyah leavers were encouraged to better their educational opportunities and given admission to Unity schools, Federal Government Colleges, secondary, federal polytechnics Federal Colleges of Education (NCEs) in the early 1980s while in the Federal Ministry of Education. He awarded of SCHOLARSHIPS to many Kishi indigent students at all levels of their education. Mass employment of Kishi and Oke Ogun indigenes to Federal Government Ministries, agencies and parastatals particularly, Voice of Nigeria, Federal Road Safety Commission, Nigeria National Civil Defence Corps to mention just a few.

He brought several developmental Projects to Kishi, prominent among them are: 1. Rural electrification and expansion of Electrical power to most parts of Kishi as far back as the 1980s. 2 Extension of 5 kilometer electricity power to the Kishi Ummah Hospital in 2007. 3 Desilting and reviving of the Kishi earth dam through the Ministry of Water Resources in the sum of N120m. 4 Construction of the present modern Post Office while in the Ministry of Communications. 5 Communications satellite-Rural Telephony and M-Tel Projects and eventually some of the early current commercial mobile telephone projects in Kishi. 6 Tarring of the Iba’s Palace grounds, drainages and fences to its present status when in the Ministry of communications. 7 Major contributor in the building of infrastructure and most buildings including the Jum’ah Mosque in the current KISHI Muslim Ummah hospital and initiator of its approval by the Federal Government to attain its status of affiliation to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital as a federal institution. 8 Solely built the current college of Nursing and Midwifery at a cost of about N120m. The complex includes hostel facilities, hall, classrooms, dining hall, laboratories, a mosque etc and handed over to the community after which the latter handed over to Oyo state government. 9 Solely built the official residence of the Chief Imam of Kishi, the complex includes a mosque and visors’ apartment. 10 Promoted and raised Kishi community profile by getting three of our citizens to be awarded the prestigious National Honors within two years while serving within the Presidency. 11 Brought into Kishi several other projects ranging from Agriculture to commerce and many social projects and programs. 12 Brought into the community, prominent personalities ranging from Federal Permanent secretaries, Ministers, billionaire businessmen and indeed the former Head of state of Nigeria – Abdul Salami Abubakar to Kishi all of who came and made handsome financial contributions during launching of various development Projects.

Chief Promoter and Proprietor of NOVELTY SCHOOLS- A ONE STOP EDUCATION CENTER OF EXCELLENCE- comprising of crèche/Nursery, primary, secondary and now Kishi Novelty Polytechnic situated in a one hundred ant twenty-two hectares (1.22km2 of land in Kishi. He is married and has ten biological and many adopted children.
